New Year's Eve Meal

In honor of a new year, we began lunch with a Champagne toast from from our administrator, Terry Castanza. Then we were able to enjoy a delicious buffet consisting of stuffed roast pork, shrimp alfredo, and pasta. Residents were able to enjoy fresh rolls, chef salads, and best of all we were able to choose from a variety of desserts! A few of the dessert choices included tiramisu, tropical chocolate cake, lemon-berry marscapone cake, and raspberry and creme cake!

Carolers

This month has been filled with exciting parties, entertainment, outings, and family gatherings. To top off another wonderful month, a second grade class from Clinton Street Elementary School brightened our days with different holiday songs. It was nice to see how the students were able to bring a smile to our faces and cheer to our home!

The Holidays have been very busy over here in West Seneca. First, we had a lunch outting to Tony Rome's. It was a great time, filled with good food and friends, but of course, the best part was dessert!!!
Also, we had a group of friends come and play Polka Chrsitmas carols for us! It was a spur of the moment thing, with the guys calling us a half hour before they played. Of course we said yes, and everyone enjoyed hearing them play for us!

Holiday decorating!!!

It's been a busy time here in West Seneca. Like everyone else, we've been getting ready for the holidays. First, we let our creative side loose and decorated ornaments. That was a lot of fun.

Then a few days later we decorated the tree! It was extra special because we had our pretty new ornaments to use. Not only did we decorate the tree, but the whole building as well! As tiring as it was, it was worth it to see our home so festive.

A very busy week!

Last week was a very busy one for us, over here in West Seneca.

First, we had the Garden Club come over and help us make some nature inspired holiday decorations. Not only do they look great, but they smell like cinnamon!

Later that day, the Retired Men's Service Club Chorus came to sing for us. They were great, and everyone loved them!

Later in the week the Williamstown Warblers came to sing for us. They were great, and raffled off a lap robe! Susie won the homemade blanket.

Congratulations Susie!!!

A very special Veteran's Day lunch!

Today was a very special Veteran's Day for us. The Veterans had a special lunch, special in many ways. First, the Vets were treated to a lunch of pizza, pop, wings, salad, and apple pie. Yummy. During lunch, Rise (our social worker) stopped in with some friends to speak with the Vets. The Vets reminisced about their time in the service, both good and bad. At times it became quite emotional, with several Vets breaking down while telling their stories. Then, a group of children presented our Vets with an American flag.

Also joining us today were John Pieinelli, a retired Army man, and Tim Joyner, a career Navy Chief of 20 years. These gentlemen spoke with our Vets and shared stories and chatted. John was badly wounded during his time of service, and thankfully has recovered after a very long recovery.

Eden Heights of West Seneca would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of our Veterans. Without your bravery we would not have the freedoms that we have today. Make sure you hug a Vet today!

Wii Tournament with Eden!

Yesterday we had a Wii tournament with our sister facility, Eden Heights of Eden. Four of their residents came over and we all played Wii bowling. There were lots of laughs and entertainment. After everyone bowled, we had iced tea and snacks. Yummy! I'm not sure who won, but it doesn't matter. Everyone had a great time with friends, and that's what really matters!
